I'm Taking Him to Hogwarts

“A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard; Why aren't we like that wise old bird?”

I forgot to share this picture I took out our great room window two weeks ago. We were sitting on the sofa having some tea and muffins when the Piper (i.e. my DH) notices this fellow/lady staring in our window, not more than 20 feet from where we sat! So I snapped a few quick pics through the dirty window, and cleaned it up a bit in Photoshop. I don't think we drew a full the breath the whole time it sat there.

It is a Barred Owl, we hear several of them calling in the night "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you too?" And yes, our beloved Foxfire Hollow is this wonderful golden shade just now, how blessed we are.

What a beautiful sight! I just love Barred Owls. You are indeed very lucky to have him so close to you. Like a good luck charm. Awesome.

Wow, he is an amazing fellow! We hear them at night, but so rarely get to see one.
